Topics in Contemporary Obstetrics and Gynecology – Harvard Medical School
November 10, 2016 - November 12, 2016$1,050
This course will address topics of interest for practicing OBGYNs. The need for this course exists due to the rapid changes in thinking in the field, advances in technology, demographic changes, and the breadth of practice encompassed by the combination of obstetrics and gynecology.
The course content will be divided between obstetrics and gynecology with contributions from general gynecology, anesthesiology and the subspecialty areas of reproductive endocrinology and infertility, gynecologic oncology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and maternal-fetal medicine. Evidence-based course presentations by actively practicing senior faculty will address commonly encountered clinical problems, recently emerging challenges in clinical OBGYN and the latest recommendations by professional societies to help practitioners better serve their patients. Engaging, interactive learning modalities will be incorporated into the course, including case presentations with a real-time audience response system, panel presentations, and opportunities for Q&A.
The Gynecologic Surgery Division at MGH also provides a highly interactive one-day program focusing on the fundamentals of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Faculty will present current evidence and recommendations regarding simple and challenging surgical cases. Each session will feature surgical videos and challenging case discussions with the expert panel. The surgical approach will be broken down into simple and reproducible steps, allowing participants to readily apply these techniques to patients and surgical situations frequently encountered in daily practice.
This course is targeted to Primary Care Physicians, Specialty Physicians, Nurses, and Midwives. This course may also be of interest to physicians who practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
