Principles and Advances in Pericardial Intervention in Cardiac Electrophysiology – Cleveland Clinic
May 3, 2016 @ 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
Interventional cardiac electrophysiology has successfully ventured into the pericardial space with notable added benefits for treatment of arrhythmias. The ability to access the epicardial surface of the heart has enabled mechanistic studies regarding arrhythmia mapping and substrates. Adequate understanding of the relevant anatomy, mapping techniques, and knowledge of different complications is important to ensure successful and safe use of this technique. The program will include lectures and case-based, decision-making sessions which will provide the most recent data, technical advances, and their implications for clinical practice.
- Describe advances in the application of energy delivery in the pericardium
- Critically appraise the techniques and potential complications of various percutaneous and minimally invasive approaches to accessing the pericardial space
- Assess efficacy, safety, and complications with epicardial procedures
