Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology – Harvard Medical School
September 22, 2016 - September 23, 2016$590
Many clinicians have not received adequate training in the field of pediatric and adolescent gynecology. The Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Course is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, residents (OB/GYN, pediatrics, family practice), fellows (reproductive medicine, adolescent medicine) and other health professionals involved in the medical and surgical gynecologic care of girls, adolescents, and young adults. In an effort to improve awareness, Harvard Medical School offers world-renowned physicians lecturing on up-to-date treatment and diagnostics in the field of pediatric gynecology. The objective is to stimulate the health professional to become more knowledgeable about the diagnosis and management of a wide variety of gynecologic medical and surgical and social problems and to become more proficient in providing office-based prevention services and counseling to pediatric and adolescent patients relating to gynecologic issues.
The format of this course allows for maximum faculty/attendee dialogue through lectures as well as interactive discussions. It includes lectures with question and answer sessions, interactive breakfast with the faculty and afternoon workshops and an open interactive panel. Faculty members will be available to respond to questions following presentations, during the break, at continental breakfasts, and workshops. The goal is to enhance the health care of girls and adolescents through an adoption of innovations in office practice and the operating room.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Understand up-to-date research, guidelines and treatment in pediatric/adolescent gynecology to implement in practice.
- Identify and treat common gynecological issues in pediatric and adolescent women
- Improve preventative services on a wide variety of gynecological medical and surgical problems
This course is targeted to Primary Care Physicians, Specialty Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, and Nurse Practitioners. This course may also be of interest to physicians who practice in Family Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.
