Breast Cancer: New Horizons, Current Controversies / The International Inflammatory Breast Cancer Conference – Harvard Medical School
July 7, 2016 - July 10, 2016$1,050
This year the 5th International Inflammatory Breast Cancer Conference will immediately follow Breast Cancer: New Horizons, Current Controversies. Interested participants can register for either program separately, or for both conferences at a discounted rate.
Breast Cancer: New Horizons, Current Controversies encompasses the full range of breast cancer care from the pathogenesis of the disease, to innovations in identification and treatment, to the management of breast cancer survivors. Breast cancer research has led to many developments in cell biology and genetics that offer new opportunities for diagnosing, treating, and defeating breast cancer. These advances simultaneously lead to knowledge, comprehension and implementation gaps for our target audience, which includes Medical Oncologists, Surgical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Breast Surgeons, General Surgeons, Internists, Physician’s Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Oncology Nurses and other clinicians interested in the care of women with breast cancer.
The 5th International Inflammatory Breast Cancer Conference focuses on the unique biology and clinical course of inflammatory breast cancer, including the challenges of accurate identification and treatment, and the need to understand the molecular behavior of this disease that contributes to its distinctive presentation and outcomes. The rarity of inflammatory breast cancer warrants an international coalition of investigators to discuss recent advances in genomics, immunology, and the cancer microenvironment which may contribute to the development of inflammatory breast cancer. Focusing on clinical trial development specifically for inflammatory breast cancer is warranted in order to improve the clinical outcome of this virulent disease.
