Annual Advanced Robotic General and Colorectal Surgery: A Team Approach – NYU Langone Medical Center

The NYU Langone Medical Center national and internationally recognized faculty will utilize live surgical demonstrations, edited and unedited procedural video as well as didactics to demonstrate advanced general and colorectal robotic surgical techniques. This course is part of the larger 2nd Annual NYU Langone Multi- Specialty Robotic Surgery course, which includes a Nursing and Allied Surgical Team Track. This track focuses on best practices in efficiency, safety and surgeon support with a team focused approach. With 5 systems and over 7,500 cases performed, they will share their team approach to running a multi-specialty program. We encourage and recommend you to bring your nurses, PAs and hospital administration.
At the conclusion of this activity, clinicians should be able to:
- Describe proper patient positioning for various robotic general and colorectal procedures
- Identify proper operative techniques for several general and colorectal robotic procedures
- Describe proper docking for various general and colorectal procedures
- Describe trocar placement strategies for various robotic general and colorectal procedures
General, colon and rectal surgeons who perform minimally invasive robotic surgery or are interested in learning more about robotic surgery and gaining proficiency with the robotic platform.
